neaco 2020 Annual Report
We started 2020 similar to previous years, adhering to our mission of supporting under-represented young people across East Anglia progress into further and higher education, providing aspirational workshops and mentoring across our schools and colleges. Our commitment continued, supporting our parents and local communities, hardworking teachers, education staff and young people in over 100 institutions. In January 2020, we were proud to attend the launch of the Office for Students Uni Connect programme, replacing the previous National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP).
From March 2020, we recognised the significant challenges the pandemic would cause young people nationally, particularly those from disadvantaged areas. This year, we have seen the biggest adaptation of the Take Your Place programme since we began in 2017. It has been a challenge, but one we have faced head on, with all staff pulling together in a time of unprecedented change and uncertainty.
